Non-Emergency Medical Transport
Transportation services for individuals needing assistance getting to and from medical appointments, treatments, or therapies
Base rate:
$32/hour (1 hour minimum) + $0.56/mile
Round Trip in town:
$53
One-way:
$26.50 + $0.67/mile
Taxi Handicapped Van
Wheelchair-accessible transportation services for individuals requiring mobility assistance for any type of trip
Round Trip:
$60
One-way:
$25 + $2.47 per mile
Stretcher Transport
Transportation services for individuals who need to remain in a lying position during non-emergency travel between locations
One-way: $125
Quality of Life Transportation
Transportation services for daily activities such as shopping, recreation, worship services, and other personal errands
Base rate:
$26.50 One Way, Minimum of 1 Hour + $0.67/mile
Airport Transit
Safe and comfortable medical transportation services to and from airports, including medical equipment transport
Base rate:
$30 from 8 AM – 8 PM, $40 8 PM – 8 AM
$5 for extra person during the day
$10 for extra person after hours

Coverage & Payment Options
NEMT Services were codified in 2021 as a mandatory benefit under Medicaid for people who lack reliable transportation. NEMT is also offered under a growing number of Medicare Advantage Plans, and many facilities and individuals’ contract directly for NEMT services through private pay or contracted services.
Policies & Requirements
Medicaid Policy
- North Dakota Medical Assistance (Medicaid) accepted for eligible medical trips
- Free-of-charge unless Recipient Liability (Co-Pay) applies
- Medicare Advantage Plans, private pay, and facility contracts accepted
Cancellation Policy
- Cancel by 5:00pm the day before

- Late Cancellation fee: $5.00
- Same Day Cancellation fee: $10.00
